Biography - Dr. Ralph W. Whetstine

Dr. Ralph Whetstine is a clinical psychologist in private practice in Schaumburg, Illinois since 2006.  Clinically he specializes in the treatment of trauma, abuse and anxiety disorders.  He has training in a host of empirically validated forms of treatment including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), while also having advanced certification in hypnotherapy.  

Dr. Whetstine was drawn to the practice of psychology early in his life after developing an abiding interest in human potential stemming from his early interest in alternative forms of spirituality.  Throughout his career he has sought to integrate spiritual understanding and insight with empirically validated forms of clinical intervention.  A committed life-long learner, his journey into spiritual learning and inquiry started formally at age 12 when he was first drawn to working with tarot cards.  This quickly expanded to other forms of spiritual inquiry and practice that include working as an astrologer, hypnotherapist, teacher, coach and author.
